The Graduate Institute of Technology shops promote the growth of technology in central Arkansas through education and service.
The educational shops serve as a training ground for those University of Arkansas at Little Rock students pursuing degrees in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (EIT). Students are exposed to manual machining techniques, woodworking, welding, and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) processes.
The fabrication shop provides machining and fabrication services to support the development of new technologies in central Arkansas. Specialized equipment is constructed to assist researchers, not only within the UALR community, but also in other universities and institutions. Prototype parts and testing fixtures are built for new product developers in local industries.
The shops are open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Monday through Friday (except for UALR holidays). The student and project shops are open to authorized students and faculty 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Patrons are encouraged to call in advance for appointments with shop personnel.
We are located in the ETAS Annex on the UALR campus.
